What is SlipNOT^®?

SlipNOT^® Metal Safety Flooring manufactures non-slip metal flooring products. SlipNOT^® products range from sure-step bar gratings, high traction safety floor plates, permanently safe ladder rungs and rung covers, and anti-slip perforated and expanded metal. SlipNOT^® applications include catwalks, platforms, ramps, expansions joints, trench covers, walkways and countless other custom fabricated applications. SlipNOT^® is the one-time answer for increased productivity and the long-term solution for accident-free work zones. SlipNOT^® is ideal for wet, dusty and / or oily surfaces.

Process: SlipNOT^® is a plasma stream deposition process of applying molten metal to a metal substrate. This patented process results in a unique random hatch matrix surface, which provides the longest life and maximum slip resistance available. The SlipNOT^® surface can typically be applied to material from as thin as 1/8" thickness on up. SlipNOT^® prefers all material to be no wider than 72" and no longer than 144" for plates (longer lengths can be accommodated), and no longer than 288" for grating.

Strength: SlipNOT^® products have a file hard surface between 55 – 63 on the Rockwell "C" scale and a bond strength of at least 4,000 psi. This combination provides 100% surface coverage for unparalleled durability and traction even in the most demanding environments.

Alloy Materials generally used: Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Steel. Steel products can be offered with a hot dipped galvanized finish after SlipNOT^® surface is applied.

Surface Coating Choices: SlipNOT^® coating is available in aluminum, stainless steel and steel.

• Aluminum: SlipNOT^®'s aluminum surface, like all SlipNOT^® products, is completely grit-free and the ideal choice for lightweight, corrosion resistant material. With a bond strength of over 2,000 psi, aluminum SlipNOT^® products provide high traction with lightweight durability.


• Stainless Steel: Combining chemical resistance, a proven bond strength of over 4,000 psi and surface hardness between 55 – 63 on the Rockwell "C" scale; the patented SlipNOT^® stainless steel is the proven choice for even the most demanding environments. Grit-free and registered by NSF International for use in food processing facilities, stainless steel SlipNOT^® is ideal for high speed meat processing plants, beverage plants and many others.


• Steel: The steel SlipNOT^® coating is most commonly used in the demanding environments of manufacturing facilities, steel mills, or any other high traffic, highly susceptible area. SlipNOT^® steel products can be galvanized for 100% slip resistance on exterior walking surfaces that are exposed to the elements.

Grades: SlipNOT^® is available in three grades: Grade 1 – Fine, Grade 2 – Medium and Grade 3 – Coarse.

• Grade 1- Fine:
• The Grade 1 (Fine) surface has an average peak to valley surface depth of 0.010"
• This grade is used in light duty applications. This surface produces the same high coefficient of friction as our Grade 2 (Medium) and Grade 3 (Coarse). Any surface treatments, such as priming or painting, should not exceed 5 mils to prevent degradation of the SlipNOT^® performance. Hot dipped galvanizing is not available for Grade 1 Steel plates
• Grade 1 (Fine) is available for all SlipNOT^® surfaces

• Grade 2- Medium:
• This surface grade is applicable for nearly every situation. With an average peak to valley surface depth of 0.020-0.025", Grade 2 (Medium) SlipNOT^® provides maximum traction, durability and longevity
• Surface treatments to this grade should not exceed a total of 10 mils to prevent reduction of the surface coefficient of friction. For steel plates, hot dip galvanizing is the ideal surface protection
• The Grade 2 (Medium) is the maximum coarseness available for SlipNOT^® Aluminum and Stainless Steel surfaces

• Grade 3- Coarse:
• This surface is used for maximum traction in extremely high traffic or highly contaminated environments. With an average peak to valley surface depth of 0.033-0.036", Grade 3 (Coarse) SlipNOT^® provides maximum durability and longevity
• This grade is only offered in our Steel SlipNOT^® surface

Finish Choices: SlipNOT^® finish is available in Mill Finish, Painted or Galvanized.
