The LAMBDA® 3D Entrance Protection

The LAMBDA® 3D entrance-protection system uses 56 infrared beams to create an invisible safety net across the elevator entrance. If any beam in the curtain is interrupted, the LAMBDA system will reopen the elevator door instantly – without touching the approaching passenger.

Moreover, the LAMBDA 3D system has additional protection beams that project into the hallway to detect passengers as they enter or exit the elevator. This is especially important for slow-moving passengers who might clear the car door, which has the curtain protection, but could still be in the hallway door path. The LAMBDA 3D system would help avoid a potential collision with the hallway doors.

HPLIM® Door System

The revolutionary HPLIM® door system replaces the traditional rotary door motor with streamlined linear-induction technology. The system’s advanced linear-induction design has virtually no moving parts, ensuring superior performance and dependable operation.

REM® – Remote Elevator Monitoring

REM is a sophisticated, interconnected system of sensors, monitors, circuits, hardware and software used to collect, record, analyze and communicate elevator data. The REM system continuously monitors hundreds of different functions on elevators across North America and is rapidly expanding worldwide.

If the REM system detects a problem, it analyzes and diagnoses the problem’s cause and location. REM makes the service call for you. It aids an Otis mechanic in identifying the exact component(s) causing the problem, which helps to facilitate a timely and accurate resolution.

Horizontal Transportation

Otis Transit Systems Inc. offers a complete range of automated people movers and monorails. These economical products cover distances from a few hundred feet to several miles, and provide links between buildings and remote parking facilities. Quality Assurance

A program of rigorous testing ensures the reliability and longevity of Otis components. To ensure optimum performance after travel from factory to job site, Otis uses a vibration chamber to test components’ shock tolerance. To ensure the equipment functions properly in your environment, Otis puts components through environmental-endurance testing in temperature and humidity chambers that exceed components’ typical exposure. Otis also tests components in a thermal-shock chamber where they are exposed to high and low temperature extremes every 30 minutes for 200 hours. The use of an electromagnetic interference and radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) chamber enables Otis to design components that cause minimum electromagnetic interference and have minimum susceptibility to it. These tests also help Otis minimize radio-frequency interference and emissions.
