Since its development in 1979, Monoglass Spray-On has become the leading spray applied glass
fiber insulation worldwide.
Monoglass Spray-On is a two component
system that combines a white, non-combustible, inorganic, elongated glass
fiber made with not less than 25% recycled glass with a non-toxic PVA binder.
Monoglass is spray applied in a monolithic one-pass application to the
desired thickness on any surface configuration, making Monoglass the ideal
product for those hard to insulate areas. It bonds easily to concrete,
steel, wood, gypsum, rigid fiberglass and plastic insulation.
Monoglass Spray-On is an engineered
product specifically designed as a thermal, acoustic material for a wide
variety of applications within the construction industry.
Thermal Monoglass Spray-On
at R-4 per inch has the highest R-Value per inch available in a spray applied
fiber product
Acoustic The low compressive
strength glass fiber in Monoglass Spray-On produces excellent noise reduction
coefficients. This capability reduces airborne noise transmitted through
the structure from external sources and provides superb absorption of internal
airborne sound.
Condensation Control Monoglass
Spray-On combined with proper ventilation provides the ideal solution to
most condensation control problems. The monolithic application eliminates
dead air spaces, which can lead to condensation formation.
- Ease of application
- Higher rate of application than other
spray fiber products
- High R-Value
- Excellent acoustic properties
- Non-combustible
- Inorganic
- Meets or exceeds applicable codes and standards
See Tables for standards compliance and test data.
The monolithic application of Monoglass
Spray-On becomes part of the building structure, producing a more effective
system to resist heat passage and reduce moisture migration. In commercial
or residential occupancy, cold floors are eliminated with Monoglass Spray-On
without adding combustible elements to the structure. Non-combustible,
inorganic, white Monoglass assures fire and visual safety for the public
in underground parking facilities. Structural fireproofing and Monoglass
combine to achieve required fire ratings, thermal values and acoustic properties
on steel or concrete structures.
Proven performance, longevity and
exceptional bond strength makes Monoglass the choice of architects, builders,
and building owners.
Monoglass Spray-On is installed to a
lower density than competitive products thereby reducing installed weight.
As a result, high thermal values of:
- R-20/R.S.I. 3.5 (5 inches) on horizontal
surfaces
- R-28/R.S.I. 4.9 (7 inches) on vertical
surfaces can be achieved without expensive mechanical support or multi-layered
applications.
NRC values as tested to ISO 354:
- 1", 25mm = NRC 0.75
- 2", 50mm = NRC 0.95
The Monoglass surface can be left untamped
for conventional finishes or tamped and over-sprayed for a flatter finish,
or painted. For a more durable finish in exposed applications it is recommended
that the Monoglass surface be board tamped and sealed with Monoglass adhesive.
Monoglass adhesive is also available
in black. When Monoglass Spray-On is applied using black adhesive the color
of the finished application is charcoal. Charcoal colored Monoglass is
an excellent choice for any application that requires controlled lighting
and excellent acoustics, such as:
- Film Studios
- Restaurants
- Gymnasiums
- Night Clubs
- Theaters
Construction times and costs are reduced
with economical, clean and fast installation. Monoglass Spray-On is applied
throughout North America and Internationally by trained applicators using
approved equipment. Contact Monoglass Incorporated for the name of our
agent and approved applicators in your area.
