Following is a brief description of the bearings manufactured by McKINNEY: - Oil Impregnated Bearing (TA)
One piece, non-ferrous, and self-lubricating bearings ensure even, long-lasting wear and resistance to clogging, corrosion, and hinge failure. Feature is standard on five knuckle bearing hinges.
- Ball Bearing (TB)
Available for all five knuckle bearing hinges as option furnished upon written request to the factory stating “bearings are to be ball bearings”.
- Concealed Bearing
Concealed, anti-friction type bearings (provide long-lasting wear and consistency of hinge barrel design) available on all five knuckle (TCA) bearing hinges, and standard on all three and two knuckle hinges.
- Plain Bearing or Non-Bearing
Knuckles are machined with bearing-like surfaces to move against one another. An anti-friction component is provided on all McKINNEY three knuckle and Moderne (two knuckle) plain bearing hinges. Not recommended for high-frequency doors or doors with closing devices.
