We offer nearly 6,000 "standard" door combinations, but no absolutes. If you don't see exactly what you want, talk to your Karona distributor. We can probably design and build it for you.

Finishing Touches

Typically, Karona wood doors are shipped unfinished. Your contractor will finish them to ensure proper color blending with your woodwork, floors or furniture. (Preparatory sanding is also handled by your contractor to eliminate any handprints or other marks picked up on the job site.)

To give your doors a more high-end, furniture-quality finish, factory prefinishing is also an option. Karona will sand, stain, and varnish your doors to specifications provided by you, your architect or your contractor.

Karona's multi-step factory finishing program helps reduce the high cost of inconsistent field finishing problems. Our finish materials are water-based, so they are environmentally friendly and meet the strictest requirements local, state, and national environmental protection standards.

Architectural Doors

Whether you need a special-size door, special mounting options, a non-standard panel configuration, or an unusual veneer, Karona will work with you to achieve precisely the appearance and/or performance you need.

These high-quality doors for business or institutional use, are available in all our standard panel configurations or in custom designs. All conform to WDMA and AWI custom-grade product specifications.

Commercial doors are usually factory-machined and prefinished to ensure highest quality, maximum uniformity, and proper color blending.

Fire-Rated Doors to Meet Local Building Codes

We make fire doors with 20-minute positive or negative-pressure rating, and with 45,60, and 90-minute positive-pressure ratings. All except the 90-minute are available with glass panels.

Fire doors can be ordered in sizes up to 42" wide and 8' height for single-swing; up to 7' wide by 8' high for pairs.

A variety of factory machining options is available to simplify specification.

Karona panel doors meet a STC-32 rating for door sizes up to and including 3' wide and 7' high, in strict conformity with ASTM Designation E90 and E413-87.
