HotEdge Roof Ice Prevention System

The HotEdge™ Rail designed to prevent ice dam and icicle formations on roof structures partially exposes a single run heat tape to provide access for insertion, inspection, and replacement to conform to the NEC (National Electrical Code) Article 426 as evidenced by a Certificate of Compliance issued by Underwriters Laboratory, Cert. # E336195 . The NEC (426) states: "The requirements of this article shall apply to electrically energized heating systems and the installation of these systems" that are exposed on roofs and other structures.

NEW patent pending HotEdge from Hot Edge, Inc. is a roof edge ice prevention system born out of a large need to find a low cost and energy efficient alternative to zig zag heat tape, extruded metal designs and mesh mats.

The owner of HotEdge, Inc. had considered everything from traditional zigzag heat tape to cost prohibitive systems to prevent property and safety risks caused by icicles and ice dams on his own roof high in the Colorado Rockies. Systems had either failed or were cost prohibitive to install and operate. The owner invested the necessary resources to develop a solution. The result was a solution so effective, low cost and simple that he applied for a Patent and called it HotEdge.

Today, Hot Edge, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of a leading world-wide industrial engineering company. Through a dedicated ongoing R&D effort, HotEdge, Inc. is rapidly expanding to all high snow load regions world-wide and building relationships with Architects, Build Design Firms, Engineers, Roofing Contractors, Roofing Material Supply Companies, Entrepreneurs, and Licensed Electricians.
