PP – PRODUCT PRESENTATION

The UL/ULC-Listed DecoShield Systems are manufactured from low smoke, low flame spread materials meeting Class A (or 1) building codes.

We offer two decorative, low-profile shapes: L-design for covering piping (or other material) hung at the corner of the wall and ceiling, or running vertically at the juncture of two walls. U-design for covering piping (or other material) hung from the ceiling or against flat wall surfaces.

For fire sprinkler retrofits, the low profile design of the sprinkler head housings allows for better spray dispersion and firm support against reactive forces of the water stream. The design of our systems eliminates dry areas better than any other system. Make certain you have provided for full sprinkler coverage by choosing the DecoShield Systems.

The relative light weight of the DecoShield cover allows for ease of installation. With noise and debris minimized because of our plastic cover, installation of occupied premises is not a problem. Plan your job wisely, and you can install your piping and the DecoShield system with minimal disruption to the occupants.

Our DecoShield systems have been designed in accordance with NFPA 13, 13R and 13D standards. By meeting the requirements of NFPA in the design of our systems, we have saved you time and effort.

The narrow profiles offered by our DecoShield covers result in an attractive installation. By painting or staining the cover, your DecoShield installation can all but disappear as it blends in with the decor of the retrofitted area.

UA – USES, APPLICATIONS

Where do you need to retrofit piping or other material? That's where you need to specify the DecoShield® systems.

Use the DecoShield systems for fire sprinkler piping retrofits; for plumbing and hydrolics retrofits; for covering wiring, cables, medical tubing. The DecoShield systems have been installed in high-rise apartments, condo units, nursing homes, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, college and university dormitories, hospitals, schools – where do you need to retrofit piping or other material? CPVC Piping in Fire Sprinkler Retrofits: The DecoShield system is UL/ULC-Listed when installed with CPVC piping in its exposed conditions; i.e., if CPVC piping can be installed exposed, the UL/ULC-Listed DecoShield System can cover it.

Steel or Copper Piping in Fire Sprinkler Retrofits: Our DecoShield cover and components have been UL/ULC tested to perform at or beyond the requirements for a Class A (or 1) building code material. Rest easy with the DecoShield systems covering your steel or copper piping.

OP – OVERALL PRODUCT

The installed DecoShield systems provide a unique combination of aesthetics, affordability and ease of maintenance of the underlying piping system should that be necessary.

Not only is the installed DecoShield system attractive to look at, it is also a system that has been UL/ULC tested and Listed and meets the requirements of NFPA 13, 13R and 13D sprinkler installations.

With the architectural design of our L-shield, your installation appears as though crown molding has been installed in the area.

While the standard off-white color of the DecoShield cover and components blends well into any environment, the DecoShield can be painted or stained to match any decor.

Manufactured from engineered resins, the DecoShield cover resists scratching and denting, thereby providing a clean, streamlined appearance for years to come.

AI – ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION

With its modular, snap-fit design, installing the DecoShield Systems could not be easier.

CPVC Fire Sprinkler Retrofits: DecoShield Systems, Inc. offers the unique "Combo" hanger. This combination pipe hanger/shield hanger saves installation time. Pipe is inserted into the Combo hanger and securely locked into place with a double snap action. The hanger wing extensions act as snap-locks to secure the shield in its concealing position.

In between the pipe hanger spacing, simply anchor our shield clips in place and snap the DecoShield cover on. Between the Combo hangers and the shield clips, you should have snap-on locations for the DecoShield cover every 20-24". This spacing will help the DecoShield cover conform to any uneven or wavy wall or ceiling surfaces.

At your sprinkler locations, our sprinkler housing covers are designed to cover your piping and to meet the proper NFPA ceiling-to-head specifications. The design of our sprinkler housing covers provides a secure cover which will not yield to the reactive forces of the water stream, as well as a low profile, eliminating shadow areas better than any other retrofit cover system.

Corners, elbows, tee's are snapped onto shield clips which have been positioned to receive these fittings, and the fittings are coupled to the DecoShield cover by the use of our Coupling Joints.

Steel or Copper Fire Sprinkler Retrofits: For metal piping installations, DecoShield Systems, Inc. offers the "Hugger" hangers. This stand-alone pipe hanger secures your piping at a position very close to the wall or ceiling surface, thereby allowing the use of the smallest DecoShield cover to conceal your pipe.

As with CPVC piping installations, the shield clips are anchored into place at 20-24" intervals. The remaining DecoShield components are used as described above.

Plumbing, hydronics, wiring, cable, tubing, etc.: With these installations, you have freedom to achieve a covering to suit you needs. You may choose to use our pipe hangers, or you can choose your own hangers needing only to be certain the hanger places your pipe centerline where it can be accommodated by the DecoShield cover. Anchor the shield slips in place (at 20-24" intervals), and snap the DecoShield cover in place. A functional installation at a low cost, with minimal labor time.

You can reduce pipe sizes in an area, with or without reducing the size of the DecoShield cover concealing the piping. You can transition from piping hung at the corner of the wall/ceiling to piping crossing the ceiling and cover it with the DecoShield system.
