LifeGuard IG Awning windows meet coastal building codes for safety and energy efficiency by combining non-impact glass and impact-resistant glass with an insulating airspace in between. Featuring a sash that swings out from the bottom, these windows may be mulled together with direct-sets to add visual interest to any room.
Weather stripping features a foam-filled center that creates an airtight seal on all sides.
Weather Shield's exclusive Custom Wood Interiors Collection® offers eight wood species that allow you to match the fine cabinetry, furniture, floor and trim within one room or throughout your home.
Complement the style of your home or add your own distinctive look with optional Simulated Divided Lite (SDL), aluminum airspace or snap-in wood perimeter grilles featuring a "frame" design using concealed pins to snap them securely in place for superior strength compared to stick grilles found on other window brands.
A concealed hinged arm operator on operating awning units provides smooth operation. Seacoast corrosion-resistant operator arms and stainless steel slides are offered as an option for operating awning units.
In addition to the standard operator handle, optional round, folding, "T" and ADA operator handle styles are available. The standard hardware finish is Goldtone. Other finishes are optionally available as well.
With 55 standard and designer colors, plus virtually any custom color under the sun, Weather Shield's exclusive Accentials™ Distinctive Colors & Finishes program makes it easy to add a personal touch to the windows and doors of your home. Or, you can select from eight anodized aluminum exterior finishes that provide a durable, sleek appearance.
A heavy-duty .090" gauge polyvinyl butyral (PVB) laminated interlayer is bonded between two panes of annealed or heat-strengthened glass. This impact-resistant lite on the interior side of the window helps prevent flying debris from entering the home during high windstorms.
DP +55/-67 PSF for operating awning units in sizes through 50" x 36" glass size.
A second lite of annealed non-impact glass on the window unit's exterior allows for optional Low E2 coatings and creates an insulating airspace that allows the windows to meet the thermal performance requirements established for the ENERGY STAR® program.
Thick wood window frames are protected by a virtually maintenance-free, heavy-duty extruded aluminum-clad exterior that resists denting, dimpling, fading and chalking far better than thinner roll-formed aluminum exteriors found on many other brands of windows. Plus, a rigid integral nailing fin provides greater structural stability and easier installation.
