Explanation Of Terms

Visible Light:
radiant energy from 380nm - 780nm wavelengths
% Transmittance: percentage of visible light directly transmitted through glass
% Reflectance Int.: percentage of visible light directly reflected indoors from glass
% Reflectance Ext.: percentage of visible light directly reflected outdoors from glass
Solar Energy: the sun's radiant energy, ranging from 300nm - 4000nm wavelengths
% Transmittance: percentage of solar energy directly transmitted through glass
% Reflectance Ext.: percentage of solar energy directly reflected outdoors from glass
U-Value: air-to-air thermal conductance of glass and associated air/gas layers; units are Btu/hr.ft2 deg F

Shading Coeff.:
fraction of solar heat, direct plus indirect transferred indoors through glass (for reference, 1/8" clear glass has a Shading Coeff. of 1.00)

SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient):
fraction of solar energy transferred indoors both directly (radiation) and indirectly (convection/absorption/re-radiation) through the glass (for reference, 1/8" clear glass has a SHGC of 0.86)

Relative Heat Gain:
total net gain to indoor heat due to both air-to-air thermal conductance and solar heat gain; units are Btu/hr.ft2

Curb Mount Color Finishing - Finish Options

Standard finish for all E-Class® and Curb-Mount Skylights is bronze enamel. Ten baked enamel designer colors are available for all Architectural Series models, and as optional finishes for E-Class and G-Series models. Residential Skylight Options and Accessories

SkyBlinds™ - Wasco’s Remote Skylight Shades
Save on heating and cooling costs with these economical pleated polyester fabric tension skylight shades. Easy to install at any angle, even upside-down. SkyBlinds are operated by telescopic pole or can be motorized (battery operated) with remote control. Designed to absorb sound and cut harmful UV rays by over 90%, they are available in 3 different fabrics: Light Filtering (15% light stopped), Privacy (78% light stopped) and Room Darkening (99% light stopped). View approximate fabric colors for skylight shades online. To order a Skyblinds Swatch Sheet, call 800-388-0293 or order SkyBlinds™ skylight shades online

Venting and SkyBlind Motorization Kit

Individual power units control SkyBlind or venting skylight operation: opening, adjusting, closing or locking at the touch of a button (choice of wall switch or hand-held remote). Rain Sensor automatically closes skylight at the first sign of moisture. New digital electronics and built-in power conversion enable automation and integration with security or home automation systems.

Remote Control – Remote Skylight Venting for Energy Savings

For use with Motorization Kit, RF hand-held remote can control an infinite number of venting skylights and SkyBlinds. Nine zones or "unit codes" are available to allow units to be controlled in groups and organized to your needs. Built in thermostat allows skylights and SkyBlinds to open and close together, coordinating a comfortable interior temperature. Takes advantage of true "chimney effect" cooling to reduce energy demands. “Rolling Code” technology proven in garage door openers is built into every remote to provide high security and peace of mind.

Vent Pole with Adapter

Convenient, lightweight, adjustable telescopic pole (extends 6' 2" to 10' 2"). Venting unit adapter available separately.

Skyshade Pole
Telescoping poles available in two lengths (4' to 6' and 6' 3" to 10' 5").
