Terra's BioSafe Cleanrooms are designed specifically for biopharmaceutical applications that require an easy-clean, aseptic environment.

Their powder-coated or 304/316 stainless steel panels form ultra-smooth interior surfaces that are easy to clean and disinfect. Rounded corners minimize crevices that harbor dust and germs, and available anti-microbial surface coatings inhibit growth of bacteria, fungi and other microbes.

New Overview Image

Easy-clean, double-wall steel panels create complex floor plans

These double-wall panels create a rigid, self-supporting structure that requires no external supports, so rooms can be installed, disassembled, and reassembled with no specialized equipment or permitting. They also allow room insulation and accommodate flush-mount control panels and optional utilities – electrical outlets, gas and vacuum ports – without unsightly conduit.

The ceiling grid supports 2' × 4' filter/fan units, air handlers, and lights. BioSafe rooms can be configured either as conventional cleanrooms, with addition of filter/fan units to the ceiling grid, or as ventilation rooms, with addition of a ceiling ventilator. A Terra configuration specialist assists in selection of filter type (HEPA or ULPA) and quantity to meet cleanliness standards to Class 10-100,000 / ISO 4-8. Based on other environmental requirements, Terra engineers prepare a recommended configuration and complete system drawings.

Optional features include

Air conditioning – maintains a constant temperature above or below ambient. Ceiling plenum chambers recirculate air for greater efficiency.

Humidification/dehumidification – stand-alone modules hold a constant relative humidity.

Ionization – low-voltage ionizing bars, integrated into FFUs, control surface charges and the particles they attract

Raised floor – solid or perforated, facilitates true laminar flow.

Air Showers – scrub particles off of personnel and products before they enter the room.

Pass-Throughs – complete lines of conventional and fire-rated pass-throughs.

High-Speed Roll-Up Doors – perfect for large process equipment or packages.

Special Lighting – in addition to standard fluorescent fixtures, Terra offers teardrop lights installed below ceiling FFUs, or UV lights for sterilization or fluorescence detection.

VHP® Biodecontamination Units – employ vaporized hydrogen peroxide to sterilize the cleanroom.

Special Utilities – provisions for vacuum, air, nitrogen, and other utilities.

Windows – available in tempered glass, dissipative PVC, or polycarbonate (Lexan®)

All rooms are factory assembled and tested as complete turnkey systems before shipping. Installation and certification services are available. See separate descriptions for configuration overview and other cleanroom styles.
