Religious Stained Glass - Stained Glass Window of St Eligius Panel #12608

This lancet style stained glass window features Saint Eligius. The inscription below on this version says “Saint Eloi”, which is the French spelling. The name is also spelled elsewhere as “Saint Eloy”. Saint Eligius, or Eloi, or Loie - was French. Saint Eloi is the patron saint of goldsmiths, metalworkers and coin collectors. He is the patron saint of those who work with horses and patron of horses, the patron saint of veterinarians. The British Army selected Saint Eloi as the patron saint of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Eligius was counselor under the king of France, and he was appointed bishop three years after the king's death. This lancet style stained glass window depicts Saint Eloi holding a golden monstrance, wearing his bishop's robes. Behind him, the field on the stained glass is a diamond pattern. The scene is set on a gothic styled lancet window.

A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
