Special-Lite® SL-16 Aluminum Flush Doors provide an aesthetically pleasing, corrosion-resistant option for applications that only call for moderate abuse tolerance. They're particularly well suited for commercial, educational and water or wastewater treatment facilities with heavy traffic, where appearance is as important as performance. The SL-16 is available in all of our anodized or painted color choices, or your own custom paint color. The aluminum door edges can be specified in any of our anodized finishes, or they can be painted to match the face sheets, or any custom color. Face sheets are available in three different surface textures; smooth, embossed and fluted. Stainless steel face sheets can be substituted for aluminum to create an especially distinctive and durable door.
Like all Special-Liteâ Flush Doors, the SL-16 features aluminum perimeter stiles and rails sized and configured to provide maximum strength while avoiding unnecessary, non-functional weight. The 2-5/16" top and bottom rails and 2-7/16" stiles of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy are joined with mitered corner joints and angle blocks. Full width tie rods pass through integral splines in the top and bottom rails, effectively making the tie rod a part of the rail. Internal stile and rail reinforcement provides secure attachment for any specified surface applied or mortised hardware. A poured-in-place urethane core bonds the door into an integral structure, is impervious to water, and provides excellent thermal insulation. Special-Lite Aluminum Flush Doors are also GREENGUARD Certified, providing independent assurance of low emissions performance to protect indoor air quality.
