When you want the classic look of wood, but need a door that can stand up to heavy traffic and moderate abuse, Special-Lite® AMP (Acrylic Modified Polyester) Flush Doors are the right solution. With a variety of vision lite and muntins options available, these doors can be made to match the architecture of new or existing classically-styled buildings, making them popular in educational, institutional, retail and commercial settings. The SL-18 Colonial 6-panel Door and SL-19 Wood Grain Door feature the same durable construction as all Special-Lite® Flush Doors, plus a corrosion-resistant, impact-resistant AMP skin with realistic wood grain texture. Both models can be finished in one of six wood stain finishes, our available paint colors, or any custom paint color. The aluminum edges of the door can be specified in any of our anodized finishes, or can be painted to match the face sheets or any custom color.
Enjoy the classic styling of a traditional colonial wood door without the upkeep of real wood with the Special-Lite® SL-18S Smooth AMP Colonial Door. Smooth surfaced AMP face sheets are available in painted finishes only.
The aluminum perimeter stiles and rails of our AMP doors are sized and configured to provide maximum strength while avoiding unnecessary, non-functional weight. The 2-5/16" top and bottom rails and 2-7/16" stiles of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy are joined with mitered corner joints and angle blocks. Full-width tie rods pass through integral splines in the rails, effectively making the tie rod a part of the rail. Internal stile and rail reinforcement provides secure attachment for the specified surface-applied or mortised hardware. A poured-in-place urethane core bonds the door into an integral structure, is impervious to water, and provides excellent thermal insulation. All Special-Lite AMP Doors are also GREENGUARD Certified for independent assurance of low emissions to protect indoor air quality.

SL-22 AMP-Clad Fire-Rated Door is similar in construction to our FRP-Clad rated door, but with the flush wood grain face sheets from our SL-19.
