RhinoBond Roofing Systems

Sarnafil’s RhinoBond Roofing Systems
Utilizing Induction Welding Technology

Enhance wind uplift resistance while using fewer plates and fasteners with Sika Sarnafil’s RhinoBond system.

Sika Sarnafil RhinoBond is an alternative attachment system for Sika Sarnafil roof membranes. The RhinoBond system eliminates membrane fastener penetration by welding the membrane directly to the specially coated plates used to secure the insulation or hardboard to the deck. The result is a roofing system that uses fewer plates and fasteners while enhancing the wind uplift resistance.

RhinoBond Benefits
  • Quick and easy to install
  • No membrane fastener penetrations
  • Even load distribution
  • Enhanced wind uplift resistance
  • Reduces membrane “flutter”
  • Elimination of half sheets
  • Covered by system warranty
  • FM approval up to 210 psf
Induction Welding

The RhinoBond system uses a patented stand-up induction welding machine to fuse the membrane to the plates. Simply place the machine above the plate, activate it for the required cycle (only a few seconds) and then place a RhinoBond weighted magnet on top of the plate for a minimum of 60 seconds to assure a strong bond. For a roof system requiring a 1-90 PSF rating, you will use ten fewer fasteners and plates for every square installed when compared to a typical in-seam, mechanically-attached system using a 10 ft wide membrane fastened 12 inches on center.

The guideline specification for the Sarnafil RhinoBond System can be found under 3-part Spec on the left hand column. For other RhinoBond specifications, please visit Sika Sarnafil’s website at http://usa.sarnafil.sika.com/
