Sentry Protection ProductsFormed in 1998, Sentry Protection Products leads the industry in marketing innovative impact resistant equipment for industrial applications. The company’s original product, Column Sentry® , was invented in 1997 by an Ohio building contractor who found himself inundated with customer requests to repair or replace columns in buildings he had erected. Most of these columns were severely damaged by collisions involving forklifts. While he appreciated the work, he knew there was a better solution than repair and replacement. In 1997, while putting up a building for a plastic molding company, he shared his concept with the company owner. Together they sketched some ideas, selected a design and created a prototype. Sentry Protection Products was formed to market that product - the Column Sentry – the original patented column protector proven to be significantly more resistant to impact than the leading imitation column protector. Since May 1998 thousands of Column Sentry products have been sold worldwide. Over the years, Sentry has expanded its product line to include Rack Sentry® , addressing the protection needs of the rack business, Concrete Wrap™ for concrete post protection, and Corner Sentry™ for wall corners. In 2008 Sentry added Park Sentry® to the line-up, the first protection product specifically designed for parking garage columns. The company was awarded the Plant Engineering Product of the Year Gold Award in 1998 for the Column Sentry product and the Product of the Year Bronze award in 2000 for Rack Sentry. The Rack Sentry Cutout won the 2010 IMHX "Design4Safety" award during the IMHX Expo in the U.K. Located in Lakewood, outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Sentry continues to introduce new ideas to the industrial marketplace, demonstrating our ability to invent, design, and market innovative protective products.
