SMARTci Roof Continuous Insulation System
The SMARTci Roof System is an innovative, continuous insulation (CI) solution. Engineered as a complete CI system, SMARTci includes composite metal hybrid (CMH) z-girt/attachment members (called GreenGirt), and insulation. GreenGirt CMH joins the building’s roofing and insulation system to a building structure. The structural component of the SMARTci assembly is GreenGirt, an insulated composite metal hybrid (CMH) sub-framing z-girt that improves thermal performance and is designed to provide an insulation system free of metal-thermal bridging. By utilizing GreenGirt insulated composite metal hybrid (CMH) sub-framing, the thermal “short circuit” is simply eliminated.
System Components
- SMARTci Roof works with standing seam, membrane, slate and shingles
- Effective R-values of 60+
- Eliminates thermal short circuit fasteners
- Thermal efficiency of >92%+
- SMARTci Roof Utilizes proven best practices
- Proven performance
- Higher R-value without a thicker roof, using 4″ to 8″ standard insulation
- Streamlined efficiency
- Universal design philosophy
- Zero through roof fasteners vs a typical 66 per square. No need to thru perforate insulation and metal deck with thousands of screws.
- Eliminate fastener hog-outs for standing seam
- Clean interior deck
- Zero interior condensate from through-metal fasteners and girts
- Insulations: polyiso, phenolic, polystyrene, mineral wool, vacuum insulation panels
- Vapor barrier and AWB compatible for underlayment
System Benefits
- ASHRAE 90.1 zone specific barrier location
- Insulated structural composite material - specifically engineered for thermal and structural properties
- Structural wind resistance greater than 40 pounds per square foot is possible
- Retains the insulation in the field - no fasteners, no blow-offs
- Steel fastener retention strip - Utilizes industry standard fasteners that tie into adjacent attachment members to create cantilevered compatibility with integrated exterior metal fastening grid that is thermally isolated and increases performance by distributing the loading throughout the composite section
- Force distribution zones FEA designed for optimal strength (radii & variable thickness)
- Can be used on multiple substrates
- Can be used with virtually any insulation and thicknesses
- Universal attachments design for any roofing type
- Proven and thoroughly tested (400+ tests and simulations)
- True single-pass insulation system
