The most remarkable feature found in the Sloan Royal, Regal and Crown/Naval Flushometer is the Non-Hold-Open feature. It's a real water-saver. Since water conservation is such an important consideration, this Feature is certainly of interest. Water is expensive. And, it often costs more when pumped within a building to distant branches and upper floors. Non-Hold-Open Flushometers save tremendous quantities of water because the Flushometer goes through its complete flushing cycle then shuts off automatically regardless of whether the handle is held or released.
The Sloan Royal Flushometer comes to you complete and ready for installation. There are no regulating screws to adjust for longer or shorter flushing. The Sloan Royal will deliver a complete flush regardless of line water pressure.
Quieting features are applied at two vital points where water is restricted within the valve. (1) The Flushometer Main Seat and (2) the Control Stop. Permanently efficient and without the need for screening the water, Sloan Flushometers maintain quiet action. When Sloan Flushometers are used in conjunction with quiet closet bowls, the results add up to maximum quietness and greater customer satisfaction.
Sloan's Bak-Chek™ Feature prevents false operation of the Flushometer when line water pressure is lost and again restored. This can occur when fire fighting equipment in the area draws heavily from the mains, when water usage exceeds the supply, when a pump fails, or when a main breaks. Pressure losses, even negative pressures, have no effect. When water pressure is restored, the Flushometer is ready for normal use. Bak-Chek™ employs a seat plug, loose on a stem but held against the stop seat by a light spring. When the Flushometer is operated, water pressure moves the seat plug off the seat. Water cannot be siphoned from the fixture.
Together with Sloan Vacuum Breakers, Bak-Chek™ offers double protection against back siphonage.
The Sloan Adjustable Tailpiece has been engineered to compensate for off-center roughing-in on the job. Adjustment is 1/2" IN or 1/2" OUT from the standard 4-3/4" (center of flushometer to center of control stop). Tightening the coupling compresses a stainless steel split ring making a solid connection. An "O" Ring provides a leak proof seal and adjustment is made in seconds. Changing tailpieces on the job is now completely eliminated.

Designed for copper tube installations, the Sloan Sweat Solder Adaptor Kit permits a threaded control stop to be installed with ease and insures a neater, more workmanlike appearance.
The Kit contains a threaded adaptor, a chrome plated wall flange and a chrome plated casing tube. Sloan has made sweat soldering a simple procedure. Threaded control stops are now used with either iron pipe or copper tubing.
