MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HURRICANE LOUVERS

Miami-Dade County design louvers are tested in rigorous structural and water penetration tests that simulate hurricane conditions. Utilization of these products ensures that the louvers will withstand the most severe weather conditions.

The ELF6375DXD is an extruded aluminum stationary louver similar to our ELF6375DX. This louver by itself has passed the PA202 static air pressure test. It has Miami-Dade Building Code Compliance Office approval for usage in open structures at up to 138 psf windload. The louver is also available in combination with a sleeve-mounted extruded aluminum damper behind it. This combination also passed the PA201 Missile Impact and PA203 Cyclic Pressure tests. It is approved for use in closed structures at up to 148 psf windload.

The EME6625 Rain Resistant louver has been tested in all of the structural tests as well as the PA100(A) Water Penetration test. It also has been tested in combination with an extruded aluminum damper in a sleeve behind. Structural testing was successful for windloads up to 140 psf. Miami-Dade BCCO approval is pending.

Both models are provided with blade supports, if required, and bird screen.

EME6625D: Stationary Louver
The EME6625D Stationary Louver is Miami-Dade County Approved. Its frame is 6" deep and it has vertical blades. It features:
  • 42% free area.
  • Approval for closed structures with or without provisions to manage weather infiltration when combined with optional CD50 Damper.
  • Approval for use in open structures with or without provisions to manage weather infiltration.
  • Extruded aluminum construction for corrosion-resistance.

ELF6375DXD: Stationary Louver
The ELF6375DXD Stationary Louver is Miami-Dade County Approved. It has a 6" deep frame and a 37 1/2 degree blade angle. It features:

  •  57% free area.
  •   Approval for use in closed structures with provisions to manage weather infiltration when combined with optional CD102 control damper.
  •  Approval for use in open structures with provisions to manage weather infiltration.
  •  High performance frame system with drainable head collects and removes water to provide excellent water penetration performance.
  •  Drain gutter in each blade minimizes water cascade between blades.
  •  Aluminum construction for low maintenance and high resistance to corrosion.
