Sol-ar is Protech’s high performance line of powder coatings for architectural applications, engineered to meet the performance requirements of AAMA specification 2605-02. Sol-ar thermoset powders are formulated using proven fluoropolymer resins that ensure outstanding weathering performance and excellent resistance to the damaging effects of extended exposure to UV light.
Sol-ar powder coatings meet or exceed the stringent specifications of AAMA 2505-02 and carry with them a Protech guarantee for ten years. The overall colour will not fade beyond a DE of 5 units while gloss retention remains greater than 50%. Sol-ar coatings pass the 4000 hours salt spray exposure test with no signs of blistering or creeping along the scribe line.
Sol-ar powders possess superior abrasion, corrosion and mar resistance capabilities. Unlike liquid alternatives, these powders do not require a primer. Their tough surface prevents damage in the handling and installation process and makes Sol-ar the ideal application for railings and other heavy traffic areas. Available in a wide range of colours and glosses, Sol-ar, like all Protech powders, are environmentally friendly and release no harmful VOC’s.
Sol-ar powder coatings remain virtually unchanged when exposed to sun, wind, acid rain, and atmospheric pollutants.
Sol-ar offers a large variety of application possibilities. Some examples include road signs, lampposts, park benches, stadium seating, roof paneling, billboards, door and window trim, and architectural aluminium extrusions.
