Fixed Aluminum Industrial StairwaysThe two most important features of Precision's PS series Aluminum Industrial Stairways are easy installation and no maintenance. The relative weight of these units compared to a steel unit makes it a breeze to install and its aluminum construction also makes it virtually maintenance free. Precision's Fixed Industrial Stairways are built to meet or exceed OSHA 1910.24. Unlike vertical and inclined ladders, industrial stairs have a climbing angle of 30 to 50 degrees which means the user can carry items such as toolboxes, equipment, crates, etc. up and down these stairs and meet OSHA code when accessing mezzanines, catwalks, roof hatches, etc. As with all of Precision's ladders and disappearing stairways, industrial stairs are built to project conditions and shipped to the job site completely fabricated and ready for installation. For industrial stairs accessing a roof consider combining Precision's Roof Hatch and Aluminum Guard Rail System to protect the hatch opening. This gives architects, engineers and contractors the option of a complete roof access system from a single manufacturing source. Some important characteristics of these stairs are: - All components shall be 6000 series aluminum alloy (6005-T5 typical)
- Fully welded construction is used throughout
- Stringers are 8" x 2.29" x 1/4" aluminum channel
- Treads are 6000 series aluminum Anti-Slip grit plate or bar grating both welded and bolted to stringer to withstand minimum 1,000 pound loading. (depth determined by rise & run)
- Standard 30-1/2" stair width provides a 26" clear tread width
- Handrails are a 2-line, 1-1/4" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe (6005-T5) providing a 1.6" OD
- Mill finish aluminum
- Available in climbing angles from 30 degrees to 50 degrees
Available as options: - Tread widths up to 48" maximum (clear tread width)
- Other finishes: powder coat, anodized, vinyl safety striped
- Other tread materials: FRP grating and diamond board treads
- Special applications: "Crossover" or bridge stairs, landing platforms and catwalks
