Porter’s FR-SAFPAD^® wall protection safety panels are the ultimate in player safety and building protection. Experiencing a disastrous fire could mean a loss of facilities and even life. The risk of potential liability often suffered in the aftermath can be horrific.

The FR-SAFPAD^® panels are manufactured with state-of-the-art materials to provide excellent smoke and flammability characteristics and are certified to pass both of the following tests: NFPA 255 (ASTM E-84) Class A Rating, standard method of test of surface burning characteristics of building materials; NFPA 286 standard method of fire tests for evaluating contribution of wall and ceiling interior finish to room fire growth. The rigid OSB backing, foam and vinyl passed these rigorous NFPA tests as a singular unit.

The cushion material of the FR-SAFPAD^® is a special 6 lb. density, fire resistant neoprene compound that provides excellent flammability characteristics and impact absorption qualities to make the FR-SAFPAD^® the optimum choice for safety in your gymnasium.

Provides maximum player protection when used behind basketball backstops and in wrestling and exercise rooms. Standard panels measure 2' x 6' with a 1" fabric covered nailing margin at the top and bottom for securing to the wall. Panels are also available without the 1" nailing strip (2' x 5'-10") for use with aluminum clip mount brackets. Cutouts for electrical outlets, switches or water fountains are easily made. On walls that are not flat, furring strips provided by the contractor are recommended.

Panels are constructed of the fillers listed above, cemented to 7/16" thick high density oriented strand backing board and covered with a 14 ounce non-tear vinyl laminated material. Vinyl material has a rip resistant quality utilizing industrial polyester filament yarns. It is mildew and rot resistant and fortified with an infection combating fungicide. The California State Fire Marshall according to method 5903 lists cover as flame retardant, which is a rating comparable to the standards of UL-214 and NFPA-701. Vonar Fire-Retardant Interliner – available on standard wainscot panels listed above.
Vonar interliners are available on all standard wainscot panels as an optional feature. Vonar is a material developed to reduce the likelihood of ignition of cushioning materials. Vonar has chemical additives that react to the heat of an ignition source, absorbing heat and liberating moisture and chemical retardants. Clip Mounted/Removable Wall Pad Options are an attractive, convenient alternative for attaching wall pads to provide your facility with a smooth and neat appearance. The Z-Clip is an attachment method that will securely lock wall panels in place using “Z” type clips or channel systems. The Z-Clip attachment system allows worn or vandalized pads to be removed for repair or replacement by simply lifting the panel upward or removing the top trim channel.

This superior wall padding attachment method is designed to incorporate the use of heavy extruded aluminum wall and baseboard attachment clips to provide ease of installation and a clean, neat appearance.
