EXPANDA-DECK MODULAR MEZZANINES

If plant space is a problem and ceiling height is adequate, use your existing plant space as a practical, low-cost solution to growth.  These pre-engineered modular mezzanines turn unused air-space into profitable work and storage areas.  Free-standing, clear-span Expand-Deck gives you a second usable floor level—twice the space within the same floor area.  Use it for storage, work stations, office or service areas.

Stairs
Penco stairs are available in four height ranges to accommodate most two-level installations. Slip-resistant stair treads are 32-1/16" wide. Handrail is made of sturdy square steel tubing, finished in Yellow. Stairs and stringers are finished in 028 Gray enamel.

Landings
Penco stair landings measure 39" wide x 39" deep and come in three standard heights. Grating, plus handrail and kickplate for two sides is included.

Handrail Kits for Expanda-Deck
Available in four heights which include kickplate. For proper assembly, railing kits should be selected for each individual module in a deck.

Grating
Penco Channel Lock Safety Grating is included with all Expanda-Deck modules.
 

CHANNEL-LOCK SAFETY GRATING

Safe
Penco Safety Grating's standard slip-resistant surface contains hundreds of shoe-gripping nibs formed into the ribs to provide a safe, comfortable walking surface. The open design keeps small debris from accumulating, and allows passage of air and light.

Strong
The efficient Channel-Lock design achieves a very high strength-to-weight ratio with double flanges on each rib, and multiple flanges on each side channel for lateral strength. Since each piece is nested in adjacent planks, they actually strengthen one another. Each one-piece rigid plank is manufactured by a continuous roll-forming process capable of producing custom lengths up to 24 feet long.

Economical
Easy installation of Penco grating pays off in labor savings. Each plank is light enough for one person to carry. Cutting can be easily done with a hacksaw or power saw. All fastening can be done with standard tools—no welding is required, no special material handling equipment is required.

The Advantages

HANDRAIL, KICKPLATE & ACCESSORIES

Penco square tube handrail is designed for shelving decks or other types of storage decks which use Penco Channel-Lock Safety Grating (excluding Expanda-Deck, which has its own handrail system).

Designed for post installation on nominal 6' centers. Base plates are welded to posts.  All required fastening hardware including channels for support beneath the grating is included with the posts. Standard finish is 710 Yellow baked enamel.

Handrail can be manufactured to UBC and BOCA specifications upon request at an additional cost.
