Our Kev-Koat product consists of
KEVLAR® bullet resistant material covered with a high-build
liquid vinyl. This product encapsulates the padding making the surface
more durable. The high-build liquid vinyl leaves a protective, high gloss
and durable top-coat. The finished surface resists chipping and peeling
and leaves walls, floors and doors that can be easily washed and disinfected.
Waste disposal is accomplished by
a flush mounted stainless steel ring that is mounted to the floor.
Finish products used by Padded Surfaces
by B&E are V.O.C. compliant and U.S.D.A. approved. Our Kev-Koat
product is UL listed and approved for use in the U.S. and Canada. Padded
Surfaces also passes the Acute Oral Toxicity test.

Halls/Corridors with Injury Risk
To ensure
safe working conditions and maximum installation results, the following
work conditions must be followed. We cannot be held responsible for product
failure if these conditions are not met.
- Adequate ventilation
- Stable temperature conditions must be maintained. Temperature must be above 60 degrees Fahrenheit and maintained for the duration of the installation and continued thereafter.
- Electrical service
Installation
time varies from project to project. The following is a brief outline of
the installation process.
- Cover walls with padding
- Cover floor with padding
- Install "Kev-Koat" material
- Apply liquid vinyl finish coat
- Fabricate and install door covering
- Install stainless steel waste ring
Once installation has been completed,
a curing time of 30 days is required for guarantee of work.
A padded
surface installed by Padded Surfaces by B&E is guaranteed impenetrable
by organic human body parts for a period of three (3) years from date of
manufacturer’s installation approval for use. Should penetration occur,
the damage will be repaired or the surface replaced, at the manufacturer’s
option.
A padded surface
repaired by Padded Surfaces by B&E is guaranteed as above. In the case
of repair of another manufacturer’s product, the guarantee applies only
to the padded surfaces we install, and not the existing surfaces that remain
from the initial installation.
This guarantee
does not apply to damage caused by any non-organic human body parts, nor
damage resulting from use prior to completion of final curing. This product
is not intended to replace established management practices, but to supplement
those practices, while allowing for a greater degree of protection against
client self-injury.
