Optigray® 23 is an advanced-formulation PPG glass
that expands the aesthetic and performance options available in the popular
gray color family. Optigray®23 glass is a gray tinted
glass with a warm bronze undertone and improved solar control properties.
Optigray® 23 glass maintains desirable light transmittance
-21% in a one inch insulating unitwhile blocking 67% of the total solar
energy, for outstanding heat load reduction. The shading coefficient is
one of the lowest of any architectural tinted glass product: 0.33 for a
one-inch I.G. unit.
Optigray® 23 glass helps reduce the air conditioning
load in a commercial structure, which means the interior environment can
be controlled effectively with smaller, less costly HVAC systems.
Optigray® 23 glass provides another topnotch solution
to energy management needs in a gray color option.
To obtain even more impressive performance while maintaining the desired
aesthetic of Optigray® glass, it can be combined in an
insulating unit with an inboard lite of a Sungate® Low-E
coated glass or a Solarban® Solar Control Low-E glass
(see performance tables in this presentation).
With its bold, almost-black look,
PPG Graylite® glass is the solution for applications
requiring reduced solar heat gain and a specific aesthetic objective.
Graylite® glass
combines superior heat load reduction and solar control with a distinctive
color contrast. Its shading coefficient is among the lowest of any uncoated
glass: 038 for a one inch insulating unit. Daylight transmittance is 12%,
making it ideal for glare control and privacy glazing.
To obtain even more impressive performance
while maintaining the desired aesthetic of Graylite® glass,
it can be combined in an insulating unit with an inboard lite of a Sungate®
Low-E glass or a Solarban® Solar Control Low-E glass
(see performance tables in this presentation).

Gray color with warm bronze undertone, low-reflective glass
product
With PPG's glare-reducing tinted glasses, architects can design building
facades that make a visual statement, while maintaining energy efficiency
and occupant comfort.
Solargray®Glass
Solargray®Glass has been a popular choice for commercial
structures because of its cool light-gray appearance and ability to control
solar heat gain and glare. Solargray® glass in a one-inch
insulating unit provides a visible light transmittance of 40%. Its light
gray color makes Solargray® glass an attractive choice,
combined with almost any other exterior cladding material.
The warmth of its bronze tint has made Solarbronze®
float glass a favorite glass solution for commercial buildings. Solarbronze®
glass reduces solar heat gain and glare while providing a visible
light transmittance of 48% in a one inch insulating unit. Solarbronze®
glass imparts a subtle richness from the exterior and adds a warm glow
to interior decors without noticeably influencing true color.
To obtain even more impressive performance while maintaining the desired
aesthetic of Solargray® glass, it can be combined in
an insulating unit with an inboard lite of a Solarbronze®
Low-E coated glass or a Solarban® Solar Control Low-E
glass (see performance tables in this presentation).
