 Nystrom's Fire Chief (FCRM Series) fire rated floor door or floor hatch was developed and engineered to comply with recent changes to international building codes. The FCRM meets all new relevant IBC 2000 codes. It is tested to NFPA 288 (formally referred to as ASTM E119) standards. Nystrom's FCRM floor hatch or floor door does not require cement to be poured in the door, allowing it to offer the most simple, inexpensive installation in the industry.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR FCRM/FCCM SERIES FLOOR HATCHES AND FLOOR DOORS

Door: ¼” aluminum diamond tread plate, contains 3 inches of 3M Duct Wrap® and 3 layers of 3M E-mat® insulation for thermal rating.
Frame: ¼” extruded aluminum angle frame, contains fiberglass gasket on door stop for thermal rating and integral masonry anchor straps.
Hinge: Type 316 stainless steel butt hinge.
Spring: Stainless steel gas springs to counterbalance door weight to achieve max. 30 Lb lifting force. Springs also restrain door in 90º open position and allows close by gravity when closing is manually initiated.
Latch: Type 316 stainless steel 2-point latch with inside pull handle and outside removable T-handle.
Finish: Mill finish. Frames provided with protective epoxy coating at areas that contact concrete.
Load Capacity: Tested to 150 psf while subjected to the time temperature curve.
Self Closer:   Optional self-closing mechanism that allows automatic closure upon sensing heat.
Listing: NFPA 288 (formally referred to as ASTM-E119). Maximum temperature rise to 250ºF.
  • Sizes up to and including 48 x 60 are rated for three hours.
  • Six (6) inch slab thickness is required to achieve a 2 hour fire rating.
  • Eight (8) inch slab thickness is required to achieve a 3 hour fire rating.
  • Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years.
  • Five year Guarantee.
