Product Description
No. 750: Smooth flat surface stair treads offer long wear. Treads
are 3/16" (4.8mm) thick, tapering to back edge, 12-1/2" (317mm) deep, with
square (or curved) molded nose. Standard sizes: 36" (914mm), 42" (1066mm),
48" (1219mm), 54" (1372mm), 60" (1524mm) or 72" (1829mm). Treads are installed
using No. 400 Neoprene Contact Adhesive applied to back of tread, to back
of nose and to step; and No. 110 Musson Epoxy Stair Caulk inside where
nose joins tread.
No. 250: Two abrasive mineral-coated Grit-Strip recessed length of
tread at impact area. Meets specs for contrasting color to alert Visually
Impaired. Treads are 3/16" (4.8mm) thick, tapering to back edge, 12-1/2"

Available Tread Colors
No. 750, 250 & 250VI are available in Musson Color Series I,
II or III.
No. 700, 200, 200VI, 725, 225 & 225VI are available in Musson
Color Series I only.
Color extends through entire thickness.

Available Grit-Strip Colors
Grit-Strip inserts are available in the following colors: Black,
Yellow, Brown, Gray. Any color may be inserted in the Grit-Strip treads.
Strips are replaceable. Black color strips will be supplied unless specified
otherwise.

Product Specifications
Specifier to select one or more tread models as required:
A. Furnish and install No. 750 (Smooth), 250 (Grit-Strip) or 250VI
(Visually Impaired) stair treads, 3/16" (4.8mm) thick; 12-1/2" (317mm)
deep; square (or curved) nose. Treads shall have a sanded back to assure
proper adhesion; contain no asbestos fiber; molded of top quality homogeneous
rubber compound, color extending throughout thickness; free from embedded
foreign material or imperfections which might lessen serviceability. Tread
color shall be ______. Standard size tread shall be _______" (___mm). Install
treads using #400 Musson Neoprene Contact Adhesive and #110 Musson Epoxy
Stair Nose Caulking. Treads shall meet Federal Specs. RR-T-650D and ZZ-T-00-1237
(GSA-FSS).
For No. 250: Provide two 3/4" (19mm) wide mineral-coated abrasive
Grit-Strips inlaid in machine ground grooves, 1" (25mm) from front edge,
spaced 3/4" (19mm) apart. Color of Grit-Strip shall be ______ (Black furnished
unless specified otherwise).
For No. 250VI: Provide one 2" (51mm) wide mineral-coated abrasive
Grit-Strip inlaid in a machine ground groove, 1" (25mm) from front edge.
Color of Grit-Strip shall be ______ (Black furnished unless specified otherwise).
B. Furnish and install Musson No. 700 (Smooth), 200 (Grit-Strip)
or 200VI (Visually Impaired) Molded Rubber stair treads, 5/16" (7.9mm)
thick; 12-1/2 (317mm) deep; square nose. Treads shall have a sanded back
to assure proper adhesion; contain no asbestos fiber; made of properly
cured homogeneous rubber compound, color extending throughout thickness;
free from embedded foreign material or imperfections which might impair
serviceability. Tread color shall be ______. Standard size tread shall
be ______" (___mm).
Install treads using Musson #400 Neoprene Contact Adhesive
and Musson #110 Epoxy Stair Nose Caulking. Treads shall meet Federal Specs.
RR-T-650D and ZZ-T-00-1237 (GSA-FSS).
For No. 200: Provide two 3/4" (19mm) wide mineral-coated abrasive

nose. Treads shall have a sanded back; contain no asbestos fiber; made
of properly cured homogenous rubber compound, color extending throughout
thickness; free from embedded foreign material or imperfections that might
lessen serviceability. Tread color shall be ______ . Standard size tread
shall be ______ . Install treads using #400 Musson Neoprene Contact Adhesive

- UL 992 Chamber Test: 2.0 or less
- ASTM E-84 Tunnel Test: 75 or less
- NFPA 253 C.R.F. Test: .9 Watts/square cm or more

E. Physical Properties: all Musson molded rubber stair treads have
been tested under: ASTM D-471, Mil 1-631, ASTM D-624 Die C, ASTM 2240 SHORE
A, ASTM D-2047, ASTM E-662 ASTM E-392-73T and SS312B.
