Transparent fabrics are capable of transmitting light so that objects or images are visible through the fabric. They produce a similar effect to a sheer curtain with the added benefits of durability, control of visible light and glare, and reduction of solar heat gain. What makes these technical fabrics so popular is they make many contributions while maintaining a visible connection to the outdoors, with excellent outer view. Mermet offers 11 styles of transparent solar screen fabrics: Interior fabrics - A Screen

All transparent fabrics are GreenGuard Children and Schools and RoHS Certified. All screen fabrics (except Silverscreen ) are produced in the USA with vinyl coated, fiberglass yarn. Vinyl coated fiberglass will provide the most durability, dimensional stability, and longest life as well as the best solar control factors. Mermet transparent fabrics offer over 140 different combinations of colors and weave styles with 7 different openness factors. *Please note that the Openness Factor is an approximation and may vary from color to color in the same fabric due to the difference color makes on solar absorption and light transmission. Important Factors to consider when selecting the best fabric - Color is one of the important factors in determining reflection performance of solar screens. Dark colors absorb a higher level of solar radiation, limit glare, and provide better outer view versus light color fabrics. Light color fabrics reflect more solar radiation and transmit more light for increased natural day lighting versus dark color fabrics.
- Exterior retractable applications are the most effective at reducing solar heat gain.
- Openness factor effects direct transmission of solar radiation, transparency of fabric, comfort levels and UV protection for individuals and items in the direct path of the sun.
- Weave structure effects the transparency or clarity of the view, the solar heat gain and shading coefficient and the appearance of the fabric, color and pattern.
