The MPT series of full height turnstiles have been developed to control pedestrians entering or exiting restricted areas. The turnstile has been designed using a modular system comprised of four primary components which can be easily assembled on site. The rotating center column of the cage consists of 3 x 120° U-shaped bars. The U-shaped bars provide not only additional protection (i.e. eyes) than straight bars, but increased number of weld points for more strength and vandalism deterrence. The MPT is shipped from the factory ready to be installed directly onto a concrete floor using flanges. An (optional) foundation ring is required for installing the turnstile on uneven or unstable surfaces. Unlike most competitor models, the MPT turnstiles can be used for bi-directional access control applications and include mounting plates for readers and/or keypads on both sides as standard. Operation is easily configured through the MSC controller included with each turnstile. In addition, the MPT full height turnstiles can be pre-configured for either free-spinning or locked operation in the event of a power failure or emergency. Furthermore, the passage frequency mainly depends on the speed of the user. Other full height turnstile options not stated below include motor-driven and mechanical versions.
The MPT33 turnstile contains an electromechanical locking device consisting of a cam plate and two solenoids. This unit is easily configured and controlled by the MSC10 E-100 controller, specifically developed by Magnetic for this application. After release of the opening pulse (i.e. from card access reader, keypad, etc), the center column will immediately unlock allowing for entry/exit. The center rotation of 120° is done easily by hand. After completing the cycle, the center column locks again. Turnstiles can be configured for either locking or unlocking in the event of a power failure/emergency–user specified.
Twin version of the MPT33 - Dual cage (two passageways)
The MPG12/22 is a motorized swing gate with similar construction to the MPT full height turnstiles. It allows for passage of handicapped persons, bicycles, personnel with oversized items and other applications where a standard full height turnstile passageway is not an option. There are two versions available: as an add-on to a MPT full height turnstile (MPG12) or a standalone lane (MPG22). The motorized operation of these units allow for simplified hands-free passage. Additional options include induction loops for wheelchairs, bicycles or similar.
The primary components of the turnstiles are the center column, two piece cage (left and right) and upper controller housing. The controller housing contains the locking mechanism and the controllers. The standard version is made of "hot dipped" galvanized steel - powder coated or type 304 / 316 stainless steel versions are available upon request at an additional cost. A mounting plate of approximately 4" x 4", is fixed on boxed ends of the turnstile enabling the adaptation of access control devices (card readers, etc).
