M-Boss Inc. nail-up panels provide a permanent, maintenance-free ceiling that
will last for generations. Application is simple: installers begin by covering
the ceiling area with 3/8" plywood, and then simply nail the metal panels
to the plywood using authentic M-Boss Inc. cone-head nails. With new construction,
there is no need to hang drywall. For rehab jobs where there is cracked plaster
or sprayed acoustic on the ceiling, there is no need to repair or remove it.
Just nail the plywood to it, covering any defects. M-Boss Inc. does not recommend
nailing panels directly to a plaster or drywall ceiling since these materials
have insufficient nail-holding properties. M-Boss Inc. recommends using filler
panels as a decorative transition around the room in order to minimize or even
eliminate the need to cut the main field panels; thereby reducing installation
labor costs. Most filler panels are sized to match a 2’ x 2’ panel,
however, M-Boss Inc. also offers rolled fillers for nail-up installations, an
industry exclusive. These rolls are designed to reduce the number of seams,
eliminate trimming to width and provide easier installation. M-Boss Inc. roll
fillers are available in 1’ x 12’ rolls in all M-Boss Inc. finishes.
M-Boss Inc. lay-in panels are a perfect blend of modern-day construction techniques
and old world charm. Architects and builders are making “statement”
spaces in their commercial projects by using M-Boss Inc. 2’ x 2’ embossed
panels in standard ceiling grids. The panels are specially sized (23-7/8”
x 23-7/8” nominal size) to fit into standard grid systems, making installation
simple. Just drop them into a standard 15/16” grid system. If desired, easy-snap
clips from M-Boss Inc. are available as an accessory item to hold the panel securely
to the grid. M-Boss Inc. recommends using filler panels as a decorative transition
