Electrochromic / Thermochromic / Photovoltaic (BIPV) Glazing

Electrochromic Windows

Electrochromic windows are windows that can be darkened or lightened electronically. A small voltage applied to the windows will cause them to darken; reversing the voltage causes them to lighten. This capability allows for the automatic control of the amount of light and heat that passes through the windows, thereby presenting an opportunity for the windows to be used as energy-saving devices.

Thermochromic Glass

Pleotint thermochromic glass is constructed of a patented Sunlight Responsive Thermochromic (SRT) film that tints in the presence of direct sunlight to block heat, glare and ultraviolet light. The variable light transmission tinting requires only that it be heated by direct sunlight; there are no wires, electrodes, power supplies, or control apparatus required. When the sunlight is no longer present, the film returns to its original high transmission condition.

BIPV Photovoltaics

Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) are photovoltaic modules that are used to generate electricity while replacing conventional glass in parts of the building envelope such as the wall, skylights, sloped glazing systems and sunshades.
