Beginning in 2006 through 2007 Krukowski Stone Company, Inc. underwent a momentous expansion focusing on high quality slab production. It has taken over 12 years to improve our quarries to be able to remove blocks for slab fabrication. This endeavor has been a long time vision of Jeff Krukowski, President and CEO, which has taken nearly two decades to come to fruition.

Our new slabbing facility utilizes the newest European stone processing technology. Our state-of-the-art process begins in the quarries. The equipment used to extract the large blocks in the quarry include one Pellegrini and two Marini wire saws, a down the hole drill, a Line Drill for horizontal and vertical drilling, a Novamac lift drill, a Tamarock Liner 100 Drill, a Tamarock Trimmer 200 Drill. We also use Pellegrini Hydro Bags to separate the massive blocks in the quarry. These blocks weigh in excess of 600,000 lbs.

This technology flows into the production area which includes a 9-wire Pellegrini poly-wire saw followed by a Pedrini resin line and a Simec line polisher. We also installed a Matec Water Treatment Plant and Slurry Dehydration Unit, a closed-loop water cleaning and recycling system, which cleans and re-circulates the recycled water throughout our entire facility. In addition to the Matec, the Simec line polisher requires water containing particles less than 5 microns; in order to achieve this we have installed a two stage filtration system, a turbo disc filter followed by an Amiad Filter System to ensure clean water for final production.

We transform both our Cambrian Cream Quartzite Sandstone and Aqua Grantique Gneiss blocks into 1 1/4", 2 1/4", and 3 1/4" slabs. These slabs are used for countertops, cladding and custom pieces. Both materials have an epoxy resin baked into the stone to reinforce the structural integrity. The finishes available in slab form include: polished, brushed and honed textures; other textures are available by special order.

We process custom orders on-site ready for installation as well as provide slab materials to distributors or fabricators who transform the slabs into everlasting works of art.

We are currently promoting our new natural domestic materials to slab distributors throughout the USA, Canada and beyond.
