Knauf Insulation: Taking Sustainable Insulation to a New Level

At Knauf Insulation, we take our commitment to providing products and services that conserve energy and preserve natural resources for a sustainable future seriously. That's why we've taken sustainable insulation products to a whole new level with the introduction of insulation products made with ECOSE^® Technology.

Knauf Insulation products have always been sustainable—made from sand, one of the world's most abundant, renewable resources and a minimum of 40% post consumer recycled bottle glass collected from curbside recycling programs. And now, the addition of ECOSE Technology makes our products even more sustainable.

ECOSE Technology is based on rapidly renewable bio-based materials rather than non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals traditionally used in fiberglass insulation product binders. It does not contain phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics or artificial colors; and reduces the binder embodied energy by up to 70% as compared to our previous products. ECOSE Technology reduces the expected Global Warming Potential and total embodied energy of EcoBatt Insulation by approximately 4%.
