KEELGRIDâ Fiberglass & Plastic Suspended Ceiling System

ICBO seismic approved KEELGRIDâ is an all fiberglass and plastic suspended ceiling system for areas requiring nonmetallic, nonmagnetic components because of high humidity, frequent washing, corrosive atmosphere, or other special conditions. Approved by the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) – Evaluation Report Number 5376. Class 1/A rated based on results from ASTM E-84 testing.

Main runners, cross tees, and wall angles are pultruded fiberglass reinforced plastic components utilizing continuous fiberglass strands, special resins, special veils, custom-designed special steel dies, and secondary machining equipment with built-in quality control to closely monitor the finished product. The assembly and hold down-clips are manufactured from virgin, top-grade PVC and are function-fit tested to assure easy field assembly. A new wall clip allows firm anchoring of perimeter tees. Another new clip provides hold-down capability for 2" thick lay-in panels.

KEELGRIDâ is spaced to allow for easier installation of lay-in tiles and laminated panels. With sufficiently stiff panels such as many laminates, grid patterns of 4' x 4' are possible. A 4 x 4 provides a larger opening for future access above the ceiling for maintenance. It also reduces the amount of grid-to-panel seams and reduces the amount of grid required.
