The Q-Floor composite cellular unit not
only provides excellent cabling capacity and easy activation of pre-set
outlet boxes, it allows full shear stud capacity for efficient composite
beam design which can reduce horizontal steel frame weight by up to 35%.
Since its introduction, the Q-Floor/Taproute System's dual electrical and
structural function has been judged so cost-effective and beneficial that
it has been used in thousands of buildings, many of them among the world's
most recognizable landmarks. The system offers a number of advantages that
ease installation and activation:
* All openings needed for wiring are
pre-punched. Placing these openings at the neutral axis of the cellular
unit retains its strength, while ensuring easy and efficient wire pulling.
* At activation, the System's Tapway™
bottomless trench header provides wire feed from power, telephone and data
panels through segregated compartments and direct access to cells through
shop-punched cell openings. This design optimizes low-voltage wiring space.
* The Tapway trench is completely hidden
in the floor and virtually invisible after carpeting.
* Tapmate preset outlet boxes snap into
place, easing installation, maintaining accurate modularity and providing
a positive electrical ground for each box. No core drilling is required.
