Waterproofing
Parking decks, mechanical equipment rooms, showers, kitchens and plazas frequently
require the floor to provide a waterproofing barrier to prevent damage to property
in lower levels. Historically this has been accomplished through the use of
floor and deck systems containing a polyurethane elastomeric membrane. More
recently, the introduction of flexible epoxies have improved the system integrity
while maintaining a functional waterproofing membrane. General Polymers Waterproofing
Systems include KOBA™ THANE polyurethane technology and EPO-FLEX®
flexible epoxy waterproofing technologies.
EPO-FLEX VEHICULAR TRAFFIC TOPPING
Product Description
General Polymers EPO-FLEX VEHICULAR TRAFFIC DECK SYSTEM combines EPO-FLEX crack
isolation with hard aggregate to provide a tough traffic bearing system. Flexibility
is achieved without the use of plasticizers or other additives which can separate
or migrate as the system ages. This means that the product remains flexible
and continues to function for many years. Fiberglass scrim may be incorporated
into the system to add tensile strength. The use of a hard aggregate provides
abrasion resistance and skid inhibition properties. Various topcoats can be
specified to provide protection against water, oils, chemicals and ultraviolet
light.
Advantages
• Bridges hairline cracks, thereby aiding in suppression of cracks reflecting
through the system due to substrate movement
• Zero VOC, environmentally friendly
• Abrasion resistant
• Color options
• Slip resistant
• Waterproof
• Chemical and stain resistant
• Fiberglass scrim optional for maximum tensile strength
• Does not require priming in many cases
Uses
• Vehicular traffic deck
KOBA THANE VEHICULAR TRAFFIC TOPPING
Product Description
General Polymers KOBA THANE TRAFFIC TOPPING SYSTEM utilizes a urethane membrane
and seal coat to provide waterproofing protection. Aliphatic seal coats are
recommended for maximum protection in those areas subjected to ultraviolet degradation.
KOBA THANE membranes are flexible enough to bridge hairline cracks, yet durable
enough to protect against heavy vehicular traffic. KOBA Traffic Topping is available
in three exposures depending upon your facility requirements.
Advantages
• Bridges hairline cracks, thereby aiding in suppression of cracks reflecting
through the system due to substrate movement
• Performs well under temperature extremes
• Protects against ultraviolet degradation
• Water resistant
• Chemical and stain resistant
Uses
• Parking stalls, ticket booths
• Plaza decks, stadiums
• Heavy traffic and slope ramps
• Pedestrian walkways, balconies
• Containment areas
• Mechanical equipment rooms
• Parking decks
KOBA THANE PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC SYSTEM

EPO-FLEX MER
Product Description
General Polymers EPO-FLEX MER (MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT ROOM) SYSTEM combines EPO-FLEX
crack bridging and waterproofing capabilities with a chemically resistant topcoat
and an optional wearcourse of EPO-FLEX, which is broadcast to excess with hard
aggregate providing increased wear, impact, and abrasion resistance. EPO-FLEX
achieves flexibility without the use of plasticizers or other additives which
can separate or migrate as the system ages. This means that the product remains
flexible and continues to function for many years. Fiberglass scrim may be incorporated
into the system to add tensile strength.
Advantages
• Bridges hairline cracks, thereby aiding in suppression of cracks reflecting
through the system due to substrate movement
• Color options
• Durable, slip resistant
• Waterproof
• Chemical and stain resistant
• Fiberglass scrim optional for maximum tensile strength
• -0- VOC, Low odor (with appropriate topcoat)
Uses
• Mechanical equipment room
• Mezzanines
• Cleanrooms
• Lockers rooms and showers
• Computer rooms
