Product Data Sheet
EverGuard® PVC
EGSR- 40 Membrane
GAF EverGuard ® EGSRTM-40 thermoplastic
PVC copolymer single-ply membrane systems have been engineered to provide
premium performance at a very cost-effective price. Strong, flexible, durable
EverGuard EGSR-40 membrane is suitable for use in all types of single-ply
systems:
Mechanically Attached
Ballast Applied
Fully Adhered
Paver Adhered
Compared to typical single-ply EPDM, PVC and TPO membranes, GAF EverGuard
EGSR-40 roofing membrane provides the benefits of all three materials in
a single membrane:
| System Type |
Main Benefits |
EverGuard PVC Membrane |
| EPDM |
Low Installed Cost |
Yes |
| PVC |
Heat Welded Seams, White Reflective Color |
Yes |
| TPO |
No Liquid Plasticizers |
Yes |
Additional features and benefits of GAF EverGuard EGSR-40 roofing
membrane include:
| Consistent sheet thickness |
Compares favorably to typical TPO membranes that are significantly
thinner between scrim reinforcement. |
| Formulated with DuPont Elvaloy solid polymer |
Compares favorably to typical PVC membranes that are formulated
with liquid plasticizers and require a thicker sheet to function as a plasticizer
reservoir. |
| Competitive 78" wide membrane sheets |
Wider sheets allow faster roof system installation particularly
when compared to "tab-type" systems that provide a securement tab every
50"-60". |
| Resistant to chemicals, oils and grease |
Allows installation on industrial applications, restaurants, etc.
where chemical, oil and grease contamination would deteriorate typical
PVC and EPDM membranes.* |
| Heat-welded seams |
Heat-welded seams provide superior tensile and peel strength
as well as superior long-term performance when compared to taped or glued
EPDM membrane seams. |
| Non-wicking polyester scrim reinforcement |
Non-wicking heat-stabilized polyester scrim reinforcement eliminates
the need for seam sealants required by other PVC and TPO membrane systems. |
| Standard reflective white color |
Energy-efficient white membrane reflects significantly more
solar radiation than do typical black EPDM membranes, reducing heat load.
Also available in a light gray color. |
| Superior tear and puncture resistance |
Tear and puncture resistance is superior to that of typical
unreinforced EPDM membranes, comparable to the performance of thicker TPO
and PVC membranes. |
| FM/UL approvals |
Competitive FM/UL roof system approvals are available for installation
over both noncombustible and combustible roof decks. |
| Single-source responsibility |
All materials, including membrane, flashing, insulation, fasteners,
and accessories, are included in standard guarantee coverage, both NDL
and Dollar Per Square guarantees. |
| Proven performance |
In-field installations in all regions of the U.S. dating back
10 years. |
*Damage resulting from oil, grease, or chemicals is not covered under
EverGuard guarantee or limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
