Casework, Cabinetry & WorkStations for Hospital Laboratories

Casework, Cabinetry & WorkStations for Hospital Laboratories

Assessing the Workflow

The highly scientific and sometimes hazardous nature of laboratories makes structure and traffic flow all the more important. When creating a furniture system of casework, cabinetry and workstations for hospital laboratories, Goelst® by Dwyer considers the current and future workflows in the space to ensure both ergonomic and flexible configurations.

Goelst® by Dwyer modular casework offers application-specific features that satisfy a wide range of user requirements. Our variety of finish options are engineered to withstand the rigorous use and harsh materials commonly found in lab environments. Our lab benches may be outfitted with electrical components as well as integrated gas and plumbing utilities. Goelst casework provides functional solutions that offer both aesthetic design and high quality materials. We offer lab casework in GREENGUARD for Children & SchoolsSM Certified powder coated steel, laminate or stainless steel.

Styles, Finishes and Options

Cabinetry – All of our cabinets and casework are GREENGUARD for Children & SchoolsSM Certified.

Laminate (HPL)
Our HPL option provides the same great durability as our standard laminate option, but additionally opens the door to choose from dozens of top quality professional grade colors and finishes from leading providers in the industry.

Powder Coated Steel
This general, all purpose cabinet is suitable for most applications. Interchangeable with laminate cabinets of the same color, powder coated steel is a better choice for high moisture areas. It is extremely durable and resistant to wear. Steel cabinet construction allows for individual panel replacement when the need arises. Powder coated steel is more economical than stainless steel, and Goelst steel cabinets are 100% recyclable.

Stainless Steel
Stainless steel has superior corrosion resistance in high moisture areas. It's the best choice for environments needing sterile working areas, as well as for those areas with chemical applications, such as laboratories. Goelst stainless steel is 100% recyclable and is ideal for adding sophistication to any work or lab area.

Worksurfaces

For high-moisture areas where liquids are used (and sometimes spilled) such as laboratories, it's best to choose a stainless steel worksurface that is durable and easily cleaned.

Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a composition of iron, nickel and chromium. While the initial cost of providing stainless steel work surfaces is relatively high, it is extremely resistant to many chemicals, making it the ultimate durable and hygienic solution. Stainless steel offers strength for long lasting installations in commercial labs and healthcare applications and allows for efficient cleaning.

Trespa® Toplab
Work surfaces are a critical element of laboratory furniture and the most vulnerable to damage. Because of this, durability, maintainability and reliability – together with aesthetics – are key factors to consider in selecting surface material. TopLab is resistant to the most aggressive chemicals and easy to clean and maintain. These panels meet all the requirements of most laboratories, with the added bonus of being aesthetically pleasing.

Epoxy
Molded from epoxy resin, these tops are monolithic and non-porous; they cannot delaminate or swell. Epoxy tops are highly resistant to the corrosive effects of most laboratory chemicals. Epoxy resin is inert; its molecular structure is highly resistant to reaction with acids and other laboratory chemicals. Strong polymer bonding within epoxy resin gives it a surface and structural hardness comparable to stone, but without stone's inherent inconsistency and porosity. Epoxy surfaces are also highly heat resistant, preventing cracking and blistering.
