Proximity Card Readers: DoorKing's proximity card readers offer the convenience of card access without having to insert or swipe the access card into the card reader device. There are no slots or other openings in a proximity reader than may become contaminated with debris or other matter, and therefore they do not require the same degree of maintenance as a swipe or insert reader. This should be considered if vandalism might be a factor. The proximity reader will read the data encoded in the card and then will send the card code in 26 bit wiegand format to an external controller such as the DoorKing 1803PC, 1815 or 1817 telephone entry systems, or the 1818 multi-door access controller.

1815-280: Mullion mounted reader with a 4-5 inch read range.
1815-281: This reader mounts into a single-gang electrical box and has a read range of 6-8 inches.
1815-282: Mullion mounted reader with a 6-8 inch read range.
1815-283: Surface mounted reader with a 18-24 inch read range.
Stand-alone Proximity Card Reader: DoorKing's Model 1520 is a stand-alone proximity card reader that has a read range of 6-8 inches and will control a single door or gate. This system will store up to 1000 card codes and has a built-in transaction buffer that can store up to 3656 events. An optional serial printer can be connected to the unit to print events in real time mode, or to print events stored in the transaction buffer. Programmable features include four time zones and timed anti-passback.
