DKS 1830 series telephone entry and access control systems are designed for commercial and industrial applications with up to 3000 system users. These systems provide visitor voice communication via the telephone network to residents / tenants in apartment complexes, gated communities, mixed use facilities, college resident halls and business applications. Once the visitor is identified, access can be granted by pressing a programmed number on the telephone handset.
In addition to visitor access control, these systems provide access control for registered users (residents, tenants, etc.) via card readers, keypads and/or RF access devices. The systems will store up to 8000 unique card, keypad or RF transmitter access codes. The systems can control two doors or gates and are easily expanded to control up to 16 doors or gates (or any combination thereof) with the addition of Tracker Expansion boards. For high rise applications, elevator control boards can be added to control up to eight (8) elevator shafts with each elevator serving up to 64 floors.
1830 series systems are programmed with the DKS Remote Account Manager software (included with the system). This user friendly Windows compatible software program allows system administrators to program all aspects of their access control system including administration rights, security (permission) levels, time zones, holiday schedules, anti-pass back parameters and live on screen reporting. Connection from the computer to the system is available via the following connection methods:
- Direct connection via an RS-232 communication port
- Modem
- Via the Internet using DKS Internet Modem Server(Patent Pending)
- Via a LAN or the Internet using optional TCP/IP module (P/N 1830-175)
The 1833 does not have any directory provisions, making it ideal for use in applications that do not require a directory or in applications where an existing directory is present.

The 1834 is ideal for small to large applications that require a directory, but without the need for any card, keypad or RF access control requirements or system expansion. The 1834 has a built-in, single-line, 1/2-inch 20 character electronic directory. A-Z scroll buttons on the front of the unit allow visitors to quickly scroll through the directory one name at a time. Once the name of the tenant the visitor is looking for is displayed, pressing the CALL button will initiate visitor – tenant communication.

The 1837 has a built-in, eight-line, 1/2-inch 20 character electronic directory. A-Z scroll buttons on the front of the unit allow visitors to quickly page through the directory eight names at a time. Once the name of the tenant the visitor is looking for is displayed, it can be highlighted and then pressing the CALL button will initiate visitor – tenant communication.

The 1838 is an access controller that is ideal for applications that require only card, keypad or RF access control. Voice communication from the entry point is limited to a single telephone using a DKS Call Box installed at the entry point. The 1838 is available in two versions: 500 users and 3000 users.
