DKS power backup / inverter systems provide backup power for vehicular access gate and access control systems when primary (AC) power fails. This capability maintains a completely functional access control system during power outages or brown-outs and is ideal for airports, prisons, apartment complexes, gated communities or any other high security application where maintaining an operable access control system is critical.
These power backup systems convert DC battery power to modified sine-wave 120-volt AC power. The amount of time that the inverter will provide continuous power is dependent on many factors including: the size (amp hours) of the batteries, the temperature, the size of the power wires, the wire run distance, etc. When battery power reaches critical levels, the system will operate in one of two modes. 1) Shutdown with the gate(s) in the closed position or, 2) automatically command the gate(s) to the open position and then shutdown.
The model 1000 is designed for residential and light-duty commercial applications with a single gate operator or a bi-parting (two) gate system. The 1000 Watt model includes a single 12-volt, 35.0 AH, SLA battery. The 1500 Watt model includes two (2) 12-volt, 35.0 AH SLA batteries.

The model 2000 is designed for commercial applications with up to six (6) gate operators required to be powered during a power outage. The model 2000 acts as a power distribution panel with up to six (6) gate operators / access control systems being powered from this panel. The model 2000 requires two (2) deep cycle, 12-volt, 100 amp-hour (or higher) batteries. Batteries ARE NOT included with the model 2000.
