1600 Series Traffic Control System
The 1600 series traffic control system includes the 1601 and 1602 barrier operators, the 1610 traffic spikes, and the 1615 warning sign. Traffic control systems are designed to limit and control vehicular traffic only. Both the model 1601 and 1602 use the microprocessor based 1601 solid-state board that controls all functions of the barrier operator. The system is designed so that relays or limit switches are not required. The control board has a built in timer, and ports for two DoorKing model 9405 or 9406 plug-in loop detectors. Advanced features include our unique Gate Tracker™ reporting that sends important gate operator data to a companion DoorKing access control system and special inputs that automatically synchronize the barrier gate operator with a slide or swing gate operator. Special electronic circuitry allows the heavy-duty gear reducer to rotate a full 360° before changing direction. This provides even wear across the entire gearbox and extends the longevity of the system.

Models:
1601: The 1601 is designed for high-cycle applications such as apartment complexes, gated communities, parking control and other commercial applications. The heavy-duty harmonic arm linkage assures smooth and accurate arm travel of 90° in approximately 1.5 seconds. Maximum arm length is 14 feet. The housing is made of 12 gauge G90 galvanized steel painted white. Options to consider are the heater kit for use in cold environments, or the fan kit for use in hot humid environments. A folding arm kit is available for low headroom applications. A reversing edge kit reverses the arm travel upon contact with a vehicle. This unit uses a 1/2 HP continuous duty motor and is available in 115-230-460 volt power. The model 1601 can be equipped with an optional DC drive battery back-up system that will cause the arm to raise automatically in the event of a power outage. This system is not designed to maintain uninterrupted gate system operation.

1602: The 1602 is designed for low-cycle applications to restricted access areas such as prisons, airport security areas or industrial sites. The heavy-duty harmonic arm linkage assures smooth and accurate arm travel of 90° in approximately 3-seconds. The three-piece wishbone style arm has a maximum length of 20 feet. The housing is made of 12 gauge G90 galvanized steel painted white. Options to consider are the heater kit for use in cold environments, or the fan kit for use in hot humid environments. A reversing edge kit reverses the arm travel upon contact with a vehicle. This unit uses a 1 HP continuous duty motor and is available in 115-230-460 volt power. The model 1602 can be equipped with an optional DC drive battery back-up system that will cause the arm to raise automatically in the event of a power outage. This system is not designed to maintain uninterrupted gate system operation.

1610: Model 1610 traffic control spikes are designed to allow traffic to proceed in one direction only. This spike system is mechanically activated and requires no power for operation. Each spike is independently spring loaded with a stainless steel spring. CAUTION: Traffic spike systems are not intended to be used in areas where vehicular traffic is uncontrolled or crosses over the spikes at an angle other than 90°, or where traffic speeds may exceed 5 MPH. Speed bumps, warning signs, and/or stop signs are recommended to control traffic when using these spike systems. This in ground system is 72 inches long, 8 1/2 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.

1615: Model 1615 warning sign is intended for use with the 1610 traffic spike unit. This sign provides a means to inform traffic that a one-way lane condition exists. The red side of the sign warns traffic to stop, while the green sign advises traffic not to back up. The sign is illuminated for night use by two 20-watt fluorescent lamps that automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. The sign includes a 150-watt flood lamp to illuminate the traffic spikes. The sign is powered by 115-volt single-phase power only and is designed to be mounted on a three inch mounting pipe. The sign measures 24 inches square and is 8 inches wide.
