Overhead type roll-up fire doors protect areas from the spread of fire and provide access control. Meet insurance and building code requirements. Provide automatic closing in the event of fire detection with governed speed. Fire doors are also designed for daily use to provide security and access control, but are for use in openings that are not part of a required means of egress. Cornell requires that all rated Fire Doors be installed by an authorized door systems technician, in accordance with NFPA 80.
Fire Door Labeling:
4 HR, 3 HR, 11/2 HR, 1 HR and 3/4 HR UL Classified labels, Factory Mutual Research Corporation's Approval.
Applications: Fire wall openings in hospitals and healthcare facilities, schools, high rise construction, hotels, museums, warehouses.
Size Range: 30' wide, 30' high standard construction. Large openings to 50' wide, 40' high up to 1200 square feet, consult factory.
Curtain Materials and Finishes:
- Galvanized steel with exclusive GalvaNex™ finish in light gray.
- GalvaNex™ with optional SpectraShield® powder coating.
- 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish.
Operation: M100 FireGard Motor, Chain or Crank Systems recommended for ease of testing and controlled automatic closing speeds (see below).
SmokeShield® Fire Doors, Model ERD11: Fire Doors equipped with perimeter smoke seals that are UL Classified for proven smoke and draft control per UL 1784. These units carry two labels, one for fire protection and one for smoke and draft control.
