ROLLING COUNTER FIRE DOORS

Model ERC10

Protect openings above counters from the spread of fire and provide access control. Meet insurance and building code requirements. Provide automatic closing in the event of fire detection with governed speed. Can fully close to the floor, when compact components are desired over a fire door. Also called shutters.

Labeling: UL 3, 1 1/2, 1 and 3/4 hour labels.

Applications: Service window openings in interior fire walls such as cafeterias, healthcare facilities, schools and universities.

Size Range: To 16' W when height is 7' 6" H or less. To 12' W when height is 10' or less. Rated drywall, masonry or steel wall construction.

Curtain Materials and Finishes:
  • Galvanized steel with exclusive GalvaNex finish in light gray
  • GalvaNex with optional SpectraShield® powder coating finish in user-selected RAL color
  • 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish

Operation: M100 FireGard Motor, Chain or Crank Systems recommended for ease of testing and controlled automatic closing speeds (see below).

Counter Fire Door Options:

UL labeled Countertops: are available in stainless steel or plastic laminate in a range of standard colors. 1 1/2 hour UL Classified rating.

SmokeShield® Counter Fire Doors, Model ERC11: Counter Fire Doors equipped with perimeter smoke seals that are UL Classified for proven smoke and draft control per UL 1784. These units carry two labels, one for fire protection and one for smoke and draft control.

Labeled Integral Frame and Countertop Units, Model ERC20: fully factory welded and assembled frame assemblies are available for a seamless, custom built-in look. These between jambs mounted units may wrap around wall if installation is done while the wall is under construction. Slip-in units may be set into finished walls.

Fire Door System Operation: M100 FireGard Closing Systems are recommended. Available in electric motor, chain or crank, M100 Closing Systems offer the following benefits:

  • Simplified, less costly testing and resetting of the automatic closing system from floor level, minimizing opening downtime
  • Eliminate mechanical spring resetting and complicated resetting and testing, especially on recessed and larger doors
  • Safe, controlled, automatic closing speed will not exceed 9" per second
  • Can be applied consistently on fire door, insulated fire door, counter fire door and SmokeShield® products
  • UL Certification allows Cornell to retrofit M100 operators to most manufacturer's fire doors while maintaining the door's UL and FM ratings
