Firemiser Insulated Fire Doors

Model ERD20

Firemiser Insulated Fire Doors provide UL rated fire protection plus security, sound attenuation, environmental separation and smoke control with the Firemiser insulated fire door from Cornell.

Achieve Rolling Steel Security with up to 4 hours of UL Classified Fire Protection, plus:

  • Sound Attenuation – A Sound Transmission Class rating of STC 27 (based on testing a complete, operable door assembly) makes Firemiser's mineral wool insulated curtain an excellent choice to maintain fire wall integrity and reduce decibel levels
  • Climate Control – Firemiser's insulated curtain yields a 5.3 R-value that can be combined with full perimeter seals for use at exterior or interior openings whenever fire protection and environmental separation is required
  • Smoke Control – Add optional UL classified smoke and draft control to fire doors. Containing smoke saves lives and building property and also aids in fire containment by slowing oxygen flow to the fire source. It's simple to double up on the protection of your building and may be required by your local building code

Practical Design Applications: Buildings with planned expansion that will require the opening to be fire rated in the future, for exterior openings with building code required fire protection due to proximity of other structures or for interior fire doors where sound control is desired.

Fire Door Labeling:

UL Classified 4 HR, 3 HR, 11/2 HR, 1 HR and 3/4 HR labels, Factory Mutual Approval. Flame spread and smoke development index factors for Firemiser's mineral wool insulation are zero.

Size Range: 30' wide, 22' high standard construction. Large openings to 34' wide, consult factory.

Curtain Materials and Finishes:
  • Galvanized steel with exclusive GalvaNex finish in light gray
  • GalvaNex with optional SpectraShield® powder coating in user-selected RAL color
  • 300 series stainless steel with #4 finish

Specified Wind Load: Cornell fire doors can be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings. Contact Cornell for details.

Seismic Performance Validation: Cornell can provide project specific seismic calculations for all fire doors that are mounted Face of Wall or Between Jambs to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.

LEED® information and calculations available.

Operation: M100 FireGard Motor, Chain or Crank Systems recommended. M100 System benefits:

  • Simplified, less costly testing and resetting of the automatic closing system from floor level, minimizing opening downtime
  • Eliminate mechanical spring resetting and complicated resetting and testing, especially on recessed and larger doors
  • Safe, controlled, automatic closing speed will not exceed 9" per second
  • Can be applied consistently on fire door, insulated fire door, counter fire door and SmokeShield® products
  • UL Certification allows Cornell to retrofit M100 operators to most manufacturer's fire doors while maintaining the door's UL and FM ratings
