Girt Type (Inset)
Inset Girts are 8 ½ or 10 inches deep as required for optimum
design. These girts attach to the web of the building columns and
are located so that the outside face of the girts extend 1 inch beyond
the outer flange of the column. Inset Girts, which are designed as
simple span, are not as economical as By-pass Girts, but can be used when
minimum column depth inside the building is a consideration.
