Girt Type (Flush Girt)
Flush Girts are 8 ½ or 10 inches deep as required for optimum
design. These girts attach to the web of the building columns and
are located so that the outside face of the girts is flush with the outer
flange of the column. Flush Girts, which are designed as simple span,
are not as economical as By-pass Girts, but can be used when minimum column
depth inside the building is a consideration.
