UltraFiber 500® is Ideal for All Slab-on-Grade and Slab-on-Deck Applications

UltraFiber 500® is ideal for all concrete slab-on-grade and slab-on-deck applications for commercial, residential and industrial. UltraFiber 500® offers the contractor enhanced performance while working with a wide variety of beautiful finishes.

Whenever you want to have an outstanding finish and significantly reduce cracking in your slab applications, turn with highest confidence to UltraFiber 500®.

UltraFiber 500® is Ideal for Decorative Concrete

UltraFiber 500® is the ideal fiber for providing outstanding plastic shrinkage crack control in decorative concrete for 2 major reasons:
  1. Provides Superior Finishing

No fiber balling, no blemishes, no surface fuzz, and the fiber accepts the cement for richer pigment and stain tones.

As shown in the photos below, UltraFiber 500® readily absorbs pigmentation and stains whereas polypropylene fibers cannot. So only UltraFiber 500® blends into colored concrete and maintains the color for a superior decorative concrete appearance.

  1. Works well with All Steps in the Decorative Finishing Process

No adherence to stamps or skins
Works well with both liquid and dry release agents
Wicks in sealants, resulting in a beautiful surface with a solid sealing
No modifications to the normal, decorative finishing process are required

UltraFiber 500® is Ideal for Precast Concrete

UltraFiber 500® is uniquely suited for precast concrete:
  1. Reduces Water Permeability of concrete by 67% at 50% stress loading. This has a direct benefit to long term internal corrosion reduction.

  1. Superior Freeze / Thaw Resistance (see table on right)
  1. Reduces Costs

Reduces rework by reducing cracks 85% (1.5 lbs/cy dose) compared to no fiber
Eliminates rejects due to WWF shadowing (see pictures below)
Eliminates the need for WWF for secondary reinforcement
Compared to WWF, decreases construction time, labor, and material cost

  1. Better Strength

Hydrophilic fiber provides internal curing which enhances overall hydration and concrete strength.

+5% to +20% better bond strength between cement paste and rebar
+5% to +15% higher compressive strength @ 28 days

  1. Improves Fire Resistance – Can be used to stop explosive spalling (ISO 834 fire curve)
  1. Enhances Decorative Finishes. No fuzz, no blemishes, no visible surface fibers, and accepts colors and stains
