AUTOMATIC FIRE VENT - LUMIVENT®
DESCRIPTION:
All Bilco automatic fire vents utilize the patented Thermolatch® II positive
hold/release mechanism. This unique latching device ensures reliable vent operation
when a fire occurs and prevents inadvertent opening of the covers caused by wind,
building vibrations or other factors. The Thermolatch II is equipped with a UL-listed
165°F (74°C) fusible link for automatic operation. In the event of a fire,
heat breaks the fusible link, allowing powerful lifting mechanisms to open the
vent covers instantaneously. Pull handles are provided for interior or exterior
manual operation and heavy-duty shock absorbers assure smooth opening and eliminate
the possibility of operational, roofing or structural damage.
Lumivent® Automatic Fire Vents provide fire protection with the added benefits
of a skylight, allowing natural daylight to enter the building. The Lumivent features
a multi-wall polycarbonate cover, specially coated for UV-resistance.
USES and APPLICATIONS:
Automatic fire venting, vertically through the roof, aids firefighters in bringing
the fire under control. Smoke, heat and gases are immediately removed from the
building and water damage is reduced by limiting the active sprinkler heads to
those in the immediate area of the fire itself. Fire vents are ideally suited
for large expanses of unobstructed space such as factories, warehouses, auditoriums
and retail facilities.
MATERIALS and FINISHES
Bilco Lumivent Fire Vents feature a multi-wall, polycarbonate cover and mill
finish aluminum construction.
