Fire resistance tests, conducted by ETL, Warnock Hersey and/or Omega Point Laboratories, demonstrated that Metaflex Fire Barrier Systems successfully meet the criteria for 2-hour ratings for use in joints in floors or roofs and in concrete, masonry, or gypsum wallboard and steel stud walls. Metaflex 4-hour Fire Barrier Systems successfully meet the criteria for 4-hour ratings for use in joints in floors or roofs.
Metaflex 2-hour rated systems, for joints in concrete, masonry, or gypsum wallboard and steel stud walls, have also successfully met both the acceptance criteria in ASTM E 119 and the acceptance criteria established in UL 2079. In addition, Metaflex for use in joints up to 18" in width has been movement cycled, spliced and fire tested in accordance with UL 2079, ASTM E 1966 and additional criteria established in ICBO ES AC 30.
Metaflex 2-, 3- and 4-hour systems for joints in floor and other horizontal concrete or masonry constructions, have been tested in accordance with and have successfully met the acceptance criteria established in ASTM E 119 and ASTM E 814.
