Stone balustrades have been used for centuries for balconies, stairways, gardens, and porches. MeltonStone™ Cast Stone Balustrades provide an economical and highly durable alternative to natural stone, while maintaining the appearance of hand cut stone.
MeltonStone™ balustrade systems are offered in heights of 24" to 42" or higher to meet code requirements and maximize design flexibility. Our artisans can hand craft standard straight balustrade railings, or they can create railings with a radius or helical profile.
Natural Appearance and Maturing Characteristics
MeltonStone™ Cast Stone Balustrades provide an authentic natural aging process similar to natural stone. They are made from natural stone aggregates, sand, and cementitious binders, mixed in specific quantitities to ensure a natural stone appearance. The balustrade systems are then hand cast to form each component, hand finished, and seasoned for hardening. They are then inspected and shrink-wrapped and foam protected for shipment.
Superior Quality
MeltonStone™ cast stone meets or exceeds the specifications of the Cast Stone Institute and has excellent density and water absorption characteristics. The material also provides a higher surface density, and smoother, more consistent surface texture than precast concrete or other wet cast products.
