Wolmanized EraWood™ Lumber

Wolmanized EraWood Lumber

In an era when consumers want environmentally sustainable products, natural appearance, low chemical content, low corrosivity, and effective coverage with paint and stain – without giving up performance – Wolmanized EraWood merits a close look. Wolmanized EraWood delivers all the performance of traditional pressure-treated wood with an EPA-registered carbon-based preservative. A proprietary stabilizer is included to minimize the effects of moisture and help prevent warping, twisting, and cracking.

Wolmanized EraWood™ Lumber

The preservative formulation has low impact; the wood it protects is GreenSpec® listed, can qualify for NAHB Research Center National Green Building Certification, and has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. Despite the low environmental impact of the wood, there is nothing gentle about its effectiveness. This wood is listed in AWPA standards and backed by a lifetime limited warranty against fungal decay and termite damage.

Warranty

Wolmanized EraWood is backed by a competitive lifetime limited warranty shown elsewhere in this section.

Why Wolmanized EraWood is Recognized as Green:

Treated with the first non-metallic wood preservative to become commercially available for residential use, Wolmanized EraWood precludes such issues as copper dislodging from wood surfaces. Intended for above-ground use, which accounts for nearly 80% of all pressure-treated wood, the preservative provides excellent protection at lower retention levels than traditional types. This cuts down on the amount of preservative needing to be used, produced, transported, etc.

Proven effective in field and lab tests, Wolmanized EraWood is recyclable for other uses after service duty as decking, and the preservative is biodegradable. It is not regulated as a hazardous material in land, water, or air transport.

Wolmanized EraWood conserves natural resources; it protects wood from termite and fungal decay using low-impact preservatives that extend the life of wood, allowing one tree to do the work of many and reducing demands on forests. Plus, Wolmanized EraWood also offers the benefits associated with wood itself, such as:

  • Wood is a renewable material that requires less energy to produce than alternative building products; it is produced with sunlight and soil nutrients as the fuel source rather than fossil fuels.
  • Treated wood is produced from plentiful, fast-growing trees grown primarily on managed timberlands (not in ancient forests or unregulated tropical rain forests).
  • Wood sequesters carbon and growing forests absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, thus reducing emission of greenhouse gases.
  • Wood construction often allows the use of lower impact equipment than construction with heavier building products.
  • Wood is an excellent insulator, conducting less heat, noise, and electrical current.
